Inaugural Housy River Duck Race
 

St. Mary-St. Michael School in Derby, CT will be hosting the Innaugural Housy River Duck Race along the Housatonic River to help raise funds for the coming year. Our goal is not only to raise enough funds to help maintain and upgrade our school but also to give back to the community through donations to local charities.

 

The Housy River Duck Race will be held in conjunction with Derby Day on Saturday, June 20, 2009.  Last year over 20,000 people participated in Derby Day.  We anticipate this year’s event to be even larger. The day will begin with the Derby Dash 5k & Fun Run along the Derby Greenway.  Participants are encouraged to then head to the Derby Green for a day full of entertainment at Derby Day.  The Duck Race will then take place in the afternoon.  The rubber ducks will race on the Housatonic River starting at the Derby-Shelton Bridge and finishing near the boat ramp underneath the Commodore Hull Bridge.

 

We are asking for your support! Donations are needed for services, attraction passes or tickets to entertainment facilities, restaurant certificates, jewelry, home furnishings, etc.  Join other local business and donate one of the many great prizes that will be given away at the Derby Duck Race.  Your business name will appear on the prize lists, our Housy River Duck Race Website, at the various selling points in town, and at the event on June 20th.  Your generous donations will be appreciated.
